Still learning how to use it...

I purchased the product to be able to convert home videos so I can burn them on disc to watch on dvd player. I am learning through trial and error. Not particularly user friendly. I am finding info that I need on YouTube for the most part. There are a lot more uses for the product, but you will need the time to sit and figure out exactly what type of file you are converting the original to. There is an icon in the upper right corner that directs you to some info, but wasn't always what I needed to know. I have discovered that I need to convert to avi files and that is through clicking the "svid" conversion. Like I said, a lot of trial and error but it works. Also, sometimes the audio is not in sync with the video. I don't know what causes that.

EXCELLENT COPY PROGRAM ALL HANDS DOWN THE BEST

I must say that this is by far the best program on the market you can get that can and will make a back up copy of nearly 99% of videos that are currently out there. I never had a single problem with this program except that if you don't have a fast enough processor, this will consume a lot of processor speed making it slower to run other programs, but if you have a newer PC that isn't sluggish then this is definitely not going to be a problem for you at all.

Some complain about only have 3 authorized installs but heck tell me what is wrong with that. Most Anti Virus programs only give you 3 installs, Microsoft Office gives you 3 installs, Operating System software only gives you 1 install so what is the big problem with that, there is none. So if you are looking for a program that will make back up copies then this is the one for you.

I have been using this program and other versions before it going on about 2-3 years now and don't plan on changing what I have been using either.

Works well if you have the right hardware

I have been using the 2011 Platinum version since it basically came out. In the beginning it has several issues (locking up, stop in the middle of burning a DVD/Blu ray but as new updates came out I would say I was able to copy every standard DVD that I had in my collection (new releases as well) and about 6 out of every 10 Blu rays could be copied to a standard DVD or converted to DiVx, MPEG-4, etc. I was hesitant to upgrade to the 2012 version because I wanted to be able to copy Blu ray movies that I could not before with the 2011 version (THOR, Transformers 3 and a few others). I emailed their tech support and I was told that the 2012 Platinum version could copy THOR and the other titles that I mentioned to them. I tried the 6 day trial and every Blu ray title except for X-MEN 1st Class would copy without any issues. What I have noticed is that you need to have the right hardware..meaning processing power and RAM to be able to pull off the Blu-ray conversions/copies correctly and in a decent amount of time. When I tried doing it on a dual core 4Mb or RAM computer it could only copy DVDs but not Blu-ray titles. I have a 3.2GHz 6-core processor, and 12MBs of RAM and depending on the title, 60-90% of the processin cores and RAM are running. Also, I have noticed that it depends on the Blu ray drive that you have....certain models do not work. Some friends at work have used LG blu ray writers and they have had issues.
